Fall Retreat 2011 - back and better than ever!

"Be Not Afraid..." Fall Retreat is has been RESCHEDULED for November 11-13!!

*** Important:  For this retreat to happen, there must be at least 20 people signed up, with forms & money turned in, before November 1.  Spread the word and get all your friends to sign up ASAP! 

Here are the details:

• Who?  YOU! All high school students are invited, even if you've never been to youth group before.
• When?  Friday, November 11- Sunday, November 13
• Where?  Bellarmine Retreat Center in Waynesboro, PA
• How much?  $70 per person (family discounts and scholarships are available too!)

STEUBENVILLE 2011

SCL Youth Group is excited to head back to Steubenville for the 2011 Franciscan University Youth Conference! 

This year's theme is... ROOTED"As therefore you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so live in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”  Colossians 2:6-7

Who: ALL HIGH SCHOOLERS (entering 9th grade - freshman year of college)

When: July 15- July 17, 2011

What: A life-changing weekend-long Youth Conference/ Retreat with thousands of students from across the country

Where: Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio

Cost: $125/ student (This includes transportation, housing, food, t-shirt, and conference materials. *Financial help is available*)

Why: Grow deeper in faith, strengthen friendships, have fun!

March for Life!

The annual March for Life is coming sooner than you think!  This year it will be on Monday, January 24, 2011.  We are continuing the tradition and once again SCL and St. Martin of Tours in Gaithersburg will be hosting Vigil events on the Sunday evening before- January 23, 2011.  The evening will include youth Mass, dinner, a concert, and Adoration.  SCL is excited to host Josh Blakesley, and St. Martin's will be hosting Tony Melendez.

We are accepting registration forms, so if you or anyone you know is interested, please don't hesitate to contact us!  The registration form for out of town groups (we will provide housing at a local parish for Sunday night and a light breakfast and bag lunch for Monday) is under the "March for Life" links on the side.  The local form will be coming soon.

If you are interested in helping coordinate the events at SCL, please let Kelsey know!  Email SCLYouthGroup@gmail.com or call 301-946-3636 ext. 24.  There will be a meeting in the Rectory Meeting Room on Wednesday, December 1 for more information and materials for planning.  There is something for everyone, from dinner to tickets to helping set up for the band!
